The Virginia Black Business Directory understands the difficulties and obstacles that can come with launching a business, which is why we've collaborated with the Business Development Center at ODU to offer an Entrepreneur Certification Program (ECP). An on-line and self-paced program.

This convenient, on-demand course gives aspiring entrepreneurs all of the skills needed to start or improve their own successful venture! *This program is complimentary to Elite, Mogul and Non-profit VABBD level memberships.

Do I have to be in business to enroll in this program?

The entrepreneurship certificate program is open to anyone with a business idea and a desire to turn it into a reality. You don't necessarily need to have an existing business in order to enroll, but it's important to have a basic concept and be in the process of developing your business plan. The program is designed to help you develop the skills and knowledge you need to successfully launch and grow your own business. So if you have an entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for business, this program could be a great opportunity for you!

What is the cost of the program?

The cost of the entrepreneurship certificate program is FREE for select membership levels. If you're not an Elite, Mogul or Non-Profit member, the value of the program is $2000, however you will be enrolled for FREE. You can upgrade your membership or sign up as a new eElite member for $300 annually. For questions email info@vabbd.com.

The program includes all course materials, access to online resources and support, and a certificate of completion upon finishing the program.

How long does it take to complete the program?

The length of the Entrepreneur Certificate program varies depending on the individual participant; however, the program is designed to be self-paced, meaning you can complete it at your own speed. On average, most participants complete the program within 4-12 weeks.

The program is comprised of a series of online courses, which cover topics such as business planning, marketing, finance, and legal issues. You'll have access to all these courses from the moment you enroll, so you can work through them as quickly or slowly as you like.

Ultimately, the goal of the program is to help you develop the skills and knowledge you need to successfully launch and grow your own business, so we encourage you to take your time and really absorb the material.
