Grants To Consider
1. Small Business Development Grant
The Virginia Beach Small Business Development Grant program seeks to increase access to funding for historically underserved and marginalized small businesses through the use of grants to qualifying businesses.
Grants shall be up to a maximum of $10,000 per approved business. The initial funding for this program is $150,000.
Interested businesses must attend a pre-application workshop
Begin accepting applications: Oct. 21, 2024 - until funds are depleted.
2. Resurgence Grant Programs for the Southeast Community
The Newport News Economic Development Authority was awarded funding by the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development through its 2024 Virginia Business District Resurgence Grant to expand business assistance resources and opportunities within the Southeast Community.
Grantees may receive reimbursement for up to three months of rent connected with new commercial leases in the Southeast Community, not to exceed $7,500 per grantee. Apply online here.

3. Restaurant Business Development Grant Program
The Restaurant Business Development Program ensures your business is financially sustainable, operationally, and advancing towards the next culinary endeavors. Cohorts will receive:
- 6 months of intentional consultations followed up with educational training services
- A financial stipend based on the demands of your business
- Continuous training and services extend to support you with procedures that help you process and maintain your business
4. TRANSFORM Small Business Grant
Funding shouldn’t be the reason you sacrifice your business idea or your professional development.
Growth-focused wealth redistribution grants of $1,000.
The TRANSFORM Business Grant is designed to support individuals in systemically marginalized groups
who are making social impact and demonstrate financial need. This includes, but is not limited to, BIPOC individuals, individuals who have a disability, formerly incarcerated individuals, and queer, trans, and nonbinary folks.

3. Wish Local Empowerment Program
Black-owned small businesses have long faced hardship due to systemic racism. But small businesses like yours are integral to the makeup of America. So we are dedicating a $2M dollar fund to give roughly 4,000 Wish Local small business partners financial support.
The selected recipients will receive amounts between $500 - $2000. This program will only be open to Black-owned stores, to help promote equality and diversity in American business.
